Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking Senior Inspectors with extensive municipal water public works experience. The Senior Inspector will assign, review and give work direction to subordinate inspectors engaged in the inspection of water and waste water utility and facilities, or other construction projects. Additional duties include, but not limited to:

  • Under minimal direction, relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Responsible for setting own project deadlines.

  • Provides on the job training to new employees.

  • Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.

  • Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records.

  • Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning.

  • Tracks quality assurance progress.

  • Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate

  • 5 years of experience in performing construction inspection work for water and wastewater utilities and facilities.

  • Knowledge of construction methods and materials.

  • Knowledge of construction specifications and codes.

  • Ability to inspect water and waste water utilities and facilities for damage or deterioration.

  • Ability to inspect the work of contractors to insure compliance with construction specifications, standards and codes.

  • Ability to complete forms and reports and to maintain a daily log.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others.

  • Ability to communicate effectively.

  • Ability to assign and review the work of subordinate inspectors.

  • Ability to train new employees.
