Job Summary

The revitalisation of Newcastle is one of the largest urban transformation projects in Australia. We are looking for an enthusiastic leader to lead our Hunter Region Contaminated Land team, based in Newcastle, NSW. The team includes a diverse range of members ranging from Industry Director to Technical Officer level, who work across a wide range of clients including Defence, O&G majors, mining and industrial sectors. This senior leadership role is a key part of the NSW and ACT Environment leadership team, the Hunter leadership team and wider ANZ Practice with opportunities to guide and influence our local and broader business.

As the leader for our team, you will be responsible for mentoring and supporting our team to develop meaningful and productive client relationships and deliver multiple concurrent contamination investigations and remediation projects of varying size and complexity. You will be a highly experienced environmental engineer or scientist, at ease preparing reports, leading field work teams, liaising with subcontractors, communicating with clients, identifying opportunities and preparing tenders, promoting innovative solutions for your clients and providing coaching, encouragement, support and mentoring to a variety of staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Extensive experience in a consultancy environment, specifically contaminated land assessment and remediation

  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and delivering quality outcomes for clients and achieving business outcomes

  • Strong experience growing a business through established client relationships in the local market

  • H&S training including: First Aid, NSW Construction Induction, and 24 or 40 hr HAZWOPER

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline such as environmental science, engineering, geology, or earth science.
