An ideal Senior Transport Planner or Senior Transport Modeller will come from an analytical background, such as mathematics, economics, geography, or engineering and will have experience in transport planning and possess key responsibilities listed below.
As a Senior Transport Planner or Senior Transport Modeller, your responsibilities will include the followin g:
Mentor graduates, share your knowledge and check tasks undertaken by your colleagues;
Project management of smaller projects, including cost control and client liaison;
Contribute to and attend industry events and conferences;
Manage your and others’ time and deliver successful projects; and
Keep clients happy and engaged.

An undergraduate degree in a relevant analytical subject, however, we also recognise the value of a range of wider qualifications and experience.
As a Senior Consultant you will be expected to mentor graduates, impart your wisdom and check tasks undertaken by your more junior colleagues
You should have the ability to handle the project management of smaller projects, including cost control and client liaison
Proven analytical, data manipulation or statistical skills using appropriate software;
You will have knowledge and experience in transport modelling and forecasting and experience in appraisal and evaluation of transport proposals;
You have used and have good knowledge of simulation software packages e.g. SATURN, PARAMICS, CUBE, EMME, VISUM, TUBA and spreadsheet modelling;
You are good at managing your time to ensure you meet project deadlines;
You need to have strong technical and report writing skills;
You should be able to explain technical concepts to others, especially our graduates and anyone else who may ask;
Good knowledge and familiarity with key guidance documents, such as WebTAG; and
Flexibility to travel to other AECOM and client offices, depending on project requirements.
