Job Summary

AECOM has a new job vacancy for a Structural CAD/Revit Technician to be based in our Birmingham office. You will work on the preparation and coordination of structural drawings and structural Revit/BIM models. You will work directly with our team of Structural Engineers to complete drawings with AutoCAD within a professional multi-disciplinary consultancy environment.

As an established technician you will also have some mentoring responsibilities and on occasion will need to attend and take part in design review and client meetings. This is a new team within an established business and will give you the opportunity to be part of a developing culture which will give you the chance to add to our evolving working process.

Job Responsibilities

Projects will generally be within the Midlands Region, but some will be located outside this region requiring occasional travel to meetings and construction sites.

It is important that you have demonstrable experience within a consultancy environment with real AutoCAD and Revit understanding. An overview of your day to day duties are below.

Job Duties

  • Preparation and coordination of structural drawings and structural Revit/BIM models.

  • Preparation and coordination of structural reinforcement drawings and details.

  • Preparing technical supporting data for specifications and reports etc.

  • Ensure compliance to the appropriate company CAD/BIM standards and protocol.

  • Apply policies relating to company standards & procedures, health & safety, quality, and training.

  • Mentoring less experienced members of the CAD/BIM team.

  • Attending and sometimes leading external and internal meetings.

Minimum Requirements

  • A relevant degree or HND/HNC qualification.

  • Significant experience in the preparation of structural drawings & BIM models.

  • A background involving building structures.

  • AutoCAD and Revit experience essential.

  • RC detailing experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A full driving license is preferable.

  • Experience of heavy and medium industrial steel structures will be added plus.

  • A clear work history and proof of professional development and learning

  • Ideally you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate
