Job Summary

AECOM’s Design Team in Cairns is looking for a Civil Design Drafter / Technical Officer to join our Transport team. This role will require you to assist with providing drafting, design input and technical support for the production of engineering drawings and documentation for a range of small to large scale projects. Our team has a number of significant projects to deliver and we are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team. As a member of our team, you will get the opportunity to actively participate in and contribute to all technical aspects, and you will use your technical knowledge and high attention to detail to develop and review drawings.

This role will give you the opportunity to develop and expand your technical skills by working closely with senior staff, lead designers and project engineers from a range of different disciplines.

Minimum Requirements

  • 4+ years’ relevant work experience;

  • Demonstrated past experience in Design Drafting on Road/ Civil related projects;

  • Excellent communication skills, and

  • A strong interest in cycleways is advantageous.

We are looking for a highly driven professional with a strong client-centric approach, who is looking to further develop their skills working in a fast-paced and dynamic team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recognised qualification (eg. Associate Degree, Bachelor of Engineering Technology or equivalent) alternatively currently in their final semester of Associate Degree with a view to completing later this year.

  • Highly capable in computer design package AutoCAD;

  • Recent experience with 12D
