Job Summary

The Environmental Division of AECOM is actively seeking a Building Hazardous Material Specialist for immediate employment in the Germantown, MD office.

  • Ability to interract with architects and engineers on fast-paced building renovation designs requiring the development of asbestos / building hazardous materials programs of requirements, drawings, specifications, and design narratives

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training

  • AHERA Asbestos Inspector, Asbestos Management Planner, and Asbestos Project Designer certifications

  • The position will require field work (2-4 weeks per month).

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in an environmental field

  • 4+ years of environmental experience directly related to hazardous material surveys, abatement, and design (asbestos, lead, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 to 7 years of experience directly applicable to hazardous material (asbestos, lead, etc.) surveys, abatement, and design projects.

  • At least two of the three following certifications: AHERA Asbestos Inspector, AHERA Asbestos Project Designer Certification, and/or AHERA Asbestos Management Planner Certification.

  • The qualified candidate will also have project management experience related to building hazardous material projects. The applicant must have US citizenship and be willing to travel.

  • Flexible to travel 2-3 months at a time
