Job Summary

To provide all senior PM responsibilities in support of the successful delivery of the Materials Handling Project to quality, time and cost. This is one of 7 current projects which collectively form the Enriched Uranium Programme, a highly visible and strategically important programme at the Client site. The scope of this project is essentially the completion of the Material Handling Store (MHS), and the work associated with getting the facility ready for operations. This will include:

  • Completion of the RIBA 3 and 4 designs, nuclear safety case, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover to operations of the MHS to include the following works:

  • Carry out remedial work to the structure which has been standing in an unprotected state.

  • Provide a protective weather envelope (cladding), including the completion of the Lightning Protection System (LPS).

  • Provide facilities, alongside the existing structure for changing, accommodation and IT systems for security and material management.

  • Provide plant rooms to support building services.

  • Provide utilities including power supply, generators, distribution points etc.

  • Complete the roadway to be fit for heavy vehicles into and out of the site.

  • Complete any outstanding drainage.

  • Reinstate the enclave.

  • Landscape the surrounding area of the facility, including pedestrian and vehicular access ways.

  • Internal fit-out,

  • Pre-Operations activities, including production of operations and maintenance documentation, training the Client’s workforce, and supporting operational readiness.

  • Line management responsibilities of team.

The role requires co-ordination of all project management activities required to ensure overall delivery – at the highest levels this to include, in no particular order:

  • Development of a fully resourced, cost loaded schedule against which performance and progress can be monitored,

  • Co-ordination of technical specification requirements into fit-for-purpose tender documentation

  • Engagement with the supply chain to facilitate a competitive and effective tender exercise

  • Working with the commercial team to deliver a highly competitive and robust tender exercise

  • A highly proactive risk and opportunity management regime and with all integrated resolution activities

  • Reporting requirement equally satisfying project and client requirements

  • Securing senior input in a timely manner through where external assistance is required

  • Ensuring compliance with all site safety and operational requirements

  • Ensuring consistent application of processes and procedures

  • Driving value and behaviours in line with the agreed EU Programme Partnering Information Document which is all about an effective collaborative working relationship

Minimum Requirements

  • Core skills are excellent leadership, high level of resilience, delivery focused, results orientated and organisational skills

  • Ideally requires experience in the nuclear sector however experience in an alternativecomplex highly regulated environment such as chemical or oil and gas would provide a sound foundation from which to be successful in this role

  • Broad project management experience;

  • Leadership of multi-disciplinary team;

  • Demonstrably deliver focus;

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management , Facility Management or other relevant discipline OR demonstrated equivalent qualification and experience combination

  • Position requires the ability to pass and maintain a Security Clearance.

Due to the nature of the role and the client, it is important that all applications have resided in the UK for at least 5 years. We need all candidates to ideally be Security Cleared (SC) or have no issue in obtaining SC. A prerequisite for SC is that the applicant has lived in the UK for at least the last 5 years.
