Job Summary
As a Marine Engineer you will advise, planning, design and supervision of all aspects of marine construction works in support of the multidisciplinary projects like dredging, reclamation, shore protection, quay walls, jetties and harbors.
Job Duties:
Performance of systems design and engineering tasks ranging from the concept formulation phase through detail design.
Establish and lead a small marine works design team
Provides technical services
Working within design budgets
Managing staff in marine team
Designs and oversees testing, installation, and repair of marine apparatus and equipment
Conducts analytical, environmental, operational, or performance studies to develop design for projects
Prepares or directs preparation of product or system layout and detailed drawings and schematics
Confers with research personnel to clarify or resolve problems and develop or modify design
Investigates and observes tests on machinery and equipment for compliance with standards
Specific Skills Required
Specific Language requirements
Good working knowledge of FIDIC contracts or similar
Specific industry and project experience – ports, rail, highways
Requirements for driving licenses
Mandatory Professional Certifications
Minimum Requirements
Additional Comments:
Membership of recognized professional institutions
Should be a chartered engineer or working towards
International working experience – GCC
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in civil engineering with coastal or maritime engineering.
Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional status desirable.
