Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated environmental person with a strong remediation and safety background for employment in the Honolulu, HI AECOM office. The position is for an experienced science lead or project professional in the environmental consulting field with a safety background that wants to expand their career at a global company. AECOM can offer a vast array of opportunities for a driven individual which may include a role as local Environment Safety person for Honolulu office and for a large Federal contract, building up of a HazMat program, and/or project management. Our Honolulu, HI office currently has a strong backlog of consulting work that will help to broaden the knowledge, experience level and value of our employees.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Project Management and execution

  • Assist with all aspects of safety and project management both in the office and in the field

  • Prepare and support proposals to win work from existing and new clients

  • Plan and implement field and office tasks using field level scientists and technician to complete the work

  • Data evaluation, technical report writing, and quality reviews

  • Supervise financials and client billings related to projects

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant scientific discipline (e.g., environmental science, biological science, engineering, geology, or any scientific related field) + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Experienced with environmental science principles, including site assessment and characterization, remediation, risk assessment, environmental chemistry, etc.

  • Knowledgeable and experienced working on/with State of Hawaii, Department of Health TGM, SCP, and local environmental regulations

  • Candidate must possess current 40-Hour HAZWOPER and Supervisor certifications and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER) medical surveillance physical examination

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in environmental science, engineering, geology or related discipline.

  • Certified industrial hygiene [CIH] or certified safety professional [CSP])

  • Knowledgeable and experience with DOD federal environmental program and working on CERCLA projects/program

  • Asbestos and lead certification (AHERA Inspector & Project Designer, EPA Lead Inspector & Project Designer)

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
