This System Engineering position requires a DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.
Responsibilities
Lead a team of contractors and government systems engineers and acquisition personnel to support the Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) 2.0 strategic objectives within the scope of the SMC Enterprise Corps Director of Engineering responsibilities.
Identify and implement efficient enterprise systems engineering processes to support system architectures, leverage new technology that can be effectively used across SMC portfolios, work collaboratively as one team to meet current and future space warfighter needs, coordinate with SMC’s mission partners in developing a sustainable warfighting architecture, and streamline the SMC processes to improve decision timelines.
Communicate effectively with SMC leadership including the Enterprise Corps Director of Engineering, SMC Program Executive Officers and Leaders, Mission Integrators, and SMC Portfolio Architect members. Manage the synchronization of Enterprise Space warfighting requirements that support the SMC 2.0 strategy and deliver resilient and affordable capability to the warfighter in a timely manner.
Identify and apply Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods and tools to support definition and refinement of space architecture artifacts. Identify and implement systems engineering policies, procedures and operating instructions for space and cyberspace systems.
Leverage FTI Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) technology that meets the SMC 2.0 Strategic Objectives. Several FTI SBIR technologies have significant potential to fill existing trade gaps and expand the analysis capabilities required to support decisions and operations related to a variety of SMC systems and missions.

Education/Qualifications
Full understanding of Department of Defense (DoD), Space and Missiles Systems (SMC), and Air Force Space Command (AFSPC) strategies and processes
20+ years of actively working in DoD space acquisitions and/or systems engineering
Experience in developing and defining Space Enterprise architectures, requirements, and capabilities
10+ years of program management experience in a DoD; Program Manager of ACAT-1 program or System Program Office is desired
Experience working with DoD alternative contracting solutions (section 804, Other Transaction Authorities and BAAs)
Working knowledge of government contracts and acquisition processes
Experience in writing requirements documents, technical documents, memorandums etc.
Active TS/SCI clearance is required to be considered for this role
Ability to work with cross mission programs (Ground systems, launch programs, and networks etc.)
Ability to effectively communicate, present, and lead discussions with senior military and civilian leadership
Minimum of a Master’s degree
Excellent leadership and communication skills with attention to detail
