AECOM’s EHS Practice in Canada has a position available for a full-time Senior Environmental Health and Safety Consultant to work from either our Guelph or Kitchener, Ontario office.
This position will provide project delivery and technical leadership (50%) to the EH&S Practice Area across Canada, including a focus on business development (35%) and project management (15%). In this role, the candidate will drive a culture of technical excellence by overseeing project delivery and performance and empowering teams to deliver on client expectations, as well as develop, capture and grow market share for the EHS Practice across Canada with a strong focus on Ontario and Western Regions.
The appropriately qualified candidate will ideally have several years of experience at a senior level delivering services within Canada and demonstrate competencies in project management, business development and working within a team environment.
Bachelors degree in environment / safety management / science
8+ years of relevant experience
Knowledge of Canadian environmental, health & safety legislation;
Practical experience in manufacturing, commercial / retail, oil & gas, construction and government operations;
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently;
Ability to work in both field and office environments;
Must possess a valid class G driver’s license and vehicle.
Project Management Professional (PMP)
4+ years of business development experience is preferred
Certified Environmental Auditor - EP(CEA) or equivalent;
Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP);
Experience working for a consulting engineering company;
Working knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001;
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams
