Job Summary

a) Quality Control

  • Ensure the deliverables are in compliance with the Project Quality Plan (PQP) and/or AECOM ISO procedures

  • To assist the Document Controller or any personnel assigned by the Business Line Leader in coordinating and implementing the document control system for the Business Line.

  • Assist to provide input to enhance the Quality system adopted and to assist to setup the enhancement as necessary on design/drawing related matter.

  • Work with the respective Engineers/Project Manager/Document Controller and be responsible in the filling of the documentation of design documents either hard or soft copies for the project in-charge.

  • Assist in the internal or external Quality Control audits.

b) Main Scope

  • Act as 'hands on' design team leader for Mechanical projects, from feasibility through to operational phase;

  • To lead / mentor a team of Mechanical Engineers;

  • To prepare and present designs, reports and specifications;

  • To prepare bill of quantities, cost reports and other cost related information for Mechanical items including carrying out tender evaluation and negotiation of rates for mechanical items;

  • To assist in managing projects delivering then on time and on budget with excellent client satisfaction;

  • To assist in managing the Clients and architects on technical matters in a professional manner and developing relationships and opportunities for potential new work;

  • Assist the project manager for the AECOM/ Client contract on managing fee expenditure and program;

  • Act as a mentor to junior staff, promoting CPD activities;

  • To assist in securing project opportunities, assist in preparing fee proposals and win work;

  • Maintain and enhance expertise within the team and as an individual;

  • Coordinate/assist/prepare the design, submission, tender documentation for issuance;

  • To interface/coordinate the design with other services/affected works (civil, structural and electrical);

  • The drafting may be supported by AECOM Regional Office. The Associate is expected to provide full support to the fellow Engineers (from both offices) and Drafter from the other office with regards to technical matters to ensure completion in a timely manner.

  • To attend meeting as necessary or as requested by the Project Manager for coordination purposes with drafters/architect/engineer of other organization to ensure AECOM design issuance are coordinated, updated and relevant with AECOM delivery of the respective project.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in electrical engineering consultancy work for infrastructure, water and wastewater, oil and gas projects

  • Knowledge of prevailing local codes/ statutory requirements and international codes

  • Professional Engineer registered or Chartered member of a recognized professional engineering institution required.

  • Self-motivated and able to work as a team member in a multi-disciplinary design office interface with other design or engineering disciplines such as architectural, civil & structural & electrical.

  • Strong project management skills.

  • Team player and able to work independent with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recognized Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
