The Failure Analysis section of the Materials Engineering Department has an excellent opportunity for a Failure Analysis Engineer. You will be hands on with tactical hardware utilizing the latest and greatest cutting edge technology in our newly renovated modern lab environment. Leverage your vast skillset supporting Manufacturing Operations, Engineering Development and Field Returns providing root cause analysis in a challenging area with constantly varying failures to resolve. Testing types include both non-destructive and destructive. In this role, you will provide corrective / preventive recommendations to the customer as part of the analysis solution. Duties will include but not be limited to the following:
- Work directly with Operation, Engineering and Whole Life teams as well as Raytheon suppliers - Hands on failure analysis approach, providing an engineering sustaining support function - Production Component Failure Trending
This position can be a Salary Grade G07 or Salary Grade G8 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the positions
Minimum 2 years of experience (or no experience with MSEE or related Master’s degree and knowledgeable in the following) working with Components, CCAs and/or Electronic Assemblies.
Electrical Failure Analysis
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Masters of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE)
Knowledge of the FRACAS System Working knowledge of military and commercial electrical and environmental
Ability to read schematics and perform circuit analysis and possess basic hands on troubleshooting skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Access/Project)
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related.
