AECOM’s UK Environment & Planning team is looking to recruit a Principal EIA professional to join our London teams. The successful candidate would join the UK’s largest team of EIA practitioners and would assist with work winning, team management, and overseeing the delivery of EIAs.
In London and the South-East we have offices in Aldgate, Croydon, St Albans and Cambridge. We have approximately 200 EIA practitioners and large teams of environmental specialists covering the full suite of technical disciplines such as acoustics, air quality, ecology, heritage.
The successful candidate will have a track-record of successful project delivery, client account management, and business development. In particular, we are looking for individuals with experience in some, or all, of the following sectors: commercial and residential (i.e. tall buildings and/or or large scale phased development), transport infrastructure, power development and oil and gas.
We have an enviable client base which includes all of the major property developers operating in London and the South-East; Berkeley Homes, British Land and Lendlease, to name a few. We are also working for Thames Tideway, HS2, Homes England and TfL on major projects across the South-East.
AECOM’s reputation in EIA is second to none and we are involved in some of UK’s most challenging and career defining infrastructure projects. We have an unrivalled track record delivering urban regeneration projects in London.
We provide support to clients at all stages of the development process, including feasibility, optioneering, through to planning and project implementation. Our EIA work covers a range of planning regimes, including Town and Country Planning applications, Transport & Works Act Orders, and Development Consent Orders.
The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the following roles and responsibilities:
Manage and oversee the technical and financial delivery of multi-disciplinary EIA projects on a day-to-day basis to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standard
Manage and deliver proposal and project documents including Scoping Reports, ES Chapters and Non-Technical Summaries and related technical studies, under the guidance of our experienced Project Directors
Manage technical specialists in the preparation of ESs
Prioritise and direct the EIA Project Management team’s project actions and meet commitments on an on-going basis while taking ownership and responsibility for the quality and completion of work
Manage and mentor more junior staff, with opportunities for line management responsibility
Contribute to work winning activities and client account management to continuously improve our service offering for our clients through business development initiatives
Experience in EIA and Environmental Management
Experience in project management of EIA projects
Strong attention to detail at all times and excellent problem solving and time management abilities
A track-record of successful client management
Highly motivated and able to work with limited direction
Excellent communication and networking skills
You will have a good first degree and a second degree in an appropriate environmental subject.
Ideally you will have chartered status with a relevant professional body or demonstrate you are working towards this status.
