Job Summary

In this position, candidates will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) to provide Engineering and Technical Support for NSWCDD’s, Platform Integration (H40) Division. Work will be performed in Dahlgren, Virginia.

The selected candidate will provide system test and evaluation support for test tool development, system test analysis, system testing, general test support, software and hardware testing, configuration management, and system and software process improvement.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum ten (10) years of full-time professional experience in Systems Engineering supporting the Department of Defense if the Candidate has a Bachelor’s degree; or

Minimum eight (8) years of full-time professional experience in Systems Engineering supporting the Department of Defense if the Candidate has a Master’s degree; or

Minimum five (5) years of full-time professional experience in Systems Engineering supporting the Department of Defense if the Candidate has a Ph.D degree;

Demonstrated experience demonstrating the ability to design, implement and execute manual and automated test procedures as well as the ability to use test tools to perform requirements verification, environment validation and system performance testing.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of systems engineering and testing practices throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Demonstrated strong problem solving, written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment.

Demonstrated experience developing testing strategies and detailed test procedures based on system requirements, as well as test execution.

Specialized Experience

Seven (7) years of full time experience testing software intensive DoD weapon systems.

Demonstrated test and evaluation experience incorporating the full spectrum of hardware and software integration of a weapon system, including Government owned elements alongside Contractor provided software and hardware.

Demonstrated experience in testing military applications with a focus on airborne and surface ship environments.

Demonstrated ability to perform verification and validation, performance and acceptance testing for the applications within the rapid development environment.

Position requires an active Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience testing Naval Weapon Systems at NSWCDD is preferred.
