The Protected Communication Systems Department is involved all aspects of Systems Engineering across the program lifecycle of Protected Communication Systems programs within the Integrated Communications System (ICS) Mission Area. The systems engineering includes architecture development, CONOPS development, trade studies, modeling and simulation, systems/software/hardware requirements analysis, as well as integration, validation and verification. The Department supports a variety of communications systems including SATCOM (including AEHF, EHF, X-Band, Ka-Band, Ku-Band, C-Band, PTW), line of sight, and networking for ground based, ship, submarine, and airborne platforms.

We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer intern to join our dynamic, diverse, and rapidly growing team. The Systems Engineer will make technical contributions in modeling & simulation and/or generating requirements to support programs within the ICS Mission Area. This position is located in Marlborough, MA.

For Multi-Level Intern Requisitions:
This position can be a Salary Grade of G04, G05 or NUG based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

  • G04 (College Junior by Fall 2020) - must have completed 60 hours of college
  • G05 (College Senior by Fall 2020) - must have completed 90 hours of college
  • NUG (Post- Graduate-Masters-PhD by Fall 2020) - must have an Undergraduate Degree and currently enrolled or about to enroll in a graduate degree program
Required Skills:
  • Must be a college Junior, Senior or Graduate student by Fall 2020
  • The candidate will need to aid in the development of system and subsystem performance requirements.
  • Must be able to work within a structured process environment including a task oriented, value based management system
  • Strong interpersonal communication, presentation skills, verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team to perform analyses and design activities.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems.
  • U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.
Desired Skill:
  • Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
  • Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)
  • Technical experience with SATCOM, LOS/BLOS, and/or networking for ground based, ship, submarine, and/or airborne platforms
  • Working knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Engineering tools (e.g., DOORS, Rhapsody, MATLAB), and peer review products.
Required Education (including major):
  • Currently pursuing a BS degree from a four-year university and entering as a college Junior or Senior by Fall 2020. Must be working towards a Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related field or equivalent technical discipline. Must be appropriate grade level listed above.
