Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced, creative, highly talented Regional TOC Floor Manager for immediate employment in Chester, VA. This position will be a direct report to the Regional Operations Manager with direct communications with staff throughout their area of responsibility and upper-level management.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Scheduling and oversight of regional TOC floor staff initial and recurrent training program

  • Participate in the review of resumes, interviews, and recommend for hire/advancement opportunities

  • Review and participate in the development of TOC manual, technical memos, and training materials

  • Oversight of the regional TOC Floor Operations training program and staff audits

  • Coordination and leadership of regional TOC floor staff

  • Responsible for daily TOC operations efficiency and effectiveness in providing regional traffic management, traveler information, incident management, traffic signal operations, and active vehicle detection systems

  • Participation in routine performance assessments and floor staff audits

  • Oversight of the control room’s equipment status and system reporting maintenance needs

  • Serve as point of contact for TOC related visits, tours, and media events

  • Coordinate control room staff meetings

  • Provide operational enhancement recommendations for modifications and/or additional staffing needs

  • Participation in meetings, seminars, and conferences as requested

  • Other ad-hoc initiatives as assigned by the Project Management Team

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma

  • 5+ years of related experience to include 2+ years of experience in management or supervision of staff

  • Skilled in technical writing, management team presentations, spreadsheet analysis, and interoffice communications

  • Competent in MS Office products

  • Effective in task delegation in real-time and priority management

  • Time management experience

  • Flexible schedule (relates to a 24/7/365 operation)

  • Due to the nature of this work, qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, business administration, transportation or related field

  • Project management experience

  • Geographic familiarity with regional freeway system and arterial roads
