Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Tunnel Engineer for immediate employment in the Markham, ON office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Design of tunnel excavation and support systems

  • Experience different tunnelling methods

  • Perform constructability review, and contract Preparation

  • Finite Element Analysis for tunnel design

  • Prepare contract documents, technical specifications, design report and drawing

  • Implements and leads technical and QA/QC reviews

  • Assist and review the work of less experienced engineers

  • Liaise with other disciplines, professionals, clients

  • Preform other duties as required

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering

  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario

  • 8+ years’ experience in the tunnel design and construction

  • Technical experience in different tunnelling methods, shaft design and ground improvement, SEM tunnelling , TBM tunnelling

  • Good Knowledge of Geotechnical, geology and Rock mechanics

  • Knowledge and experience with analytical and numerical analysis methods for underground and tunnel(Experience with 2D and 3D modelling software)

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Must have excellent oral and written skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master Degree is preferred
