Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Federal Sector, Market Sector Leader for immediate employment in one of the following locations: San Antonio, Texas; Chicago, Illinois; Dallas, Texas; Omaha, Nebraska; Kansas City, Missouri; or Denver, Colorado.

This role is responsible for driving the growth, strategy and sales of AECOM’s services for the Federal Government Program Management and Construction Management (PM/CM) business line within the Central region. Accountable for the development of business opportunities by networking with clients and within industry to advance growth and profitability in the market.

Position Description:

  • Drives execution of tactical business plans with direction from a region business line leader for growth and profitability of regional business line, implementation and execution of global business line strategy and programs.

  • Drives regional business line business development activities, regional client management for business line and manages regional business line resources Provides input into strategic/operating plan.

  • Directs the work of associates performing different tasks under the same field.

  • Applies in-depth knowledge of all aspects of field of expertise, along with interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • This role is responsible for driving the growth, strategy and sales of AECOM’s services for the Federal Government Program Management and Construction Management (PM/CM) business line within the Central region. Accountable for the development of business opportunities by networking with clients and within industry to advance growth and profitability in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides industry leadership across the Federal Government market sectors in PM/CM and leads the sales planning process for the business line across the region

  • Oversees development of capture strategies and direct pursuits of profitable business

  • Represents the company in federal government group forums

  • Drives growth and a comprehensive understanding of the federal government contracting and procurement process.

  • Sets direction and develops strategies to capture new business, ensure operational efficiencies, maintain high client satisfaction and oversee program/project execution for the regional business

  • Leads the Federal programs teams with operational and P&L responsibilities.

  • Coaching, mentoring and staff development

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Arts or Bachelor's of Science Degree + 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 4 years of leadership

Knowledge, Skills & Experiences Required:

  • In-depth knowledge of various federal agencies contracting, procurement and project execution processes

  • Very strong consultative sales skills, ability to operate in a technically complex market and long sales cycle

  • Financial and business acumen (P&L experience), and experience leading teams and programs in multiple geographical locations including overseas operations

  • Experience identifying and cultivating client relationships and leads that result in performance contracting opportunities

  • Be proficient in negotiating contracts with clients and teaming partners

  • Lead capture teams during the marketing and proposal phase in pursuit of business opportunities

  • Strong leadership, mentoring and coaching abilities to support the delivery of programs and projects

  • Ability to develop and implement multi-disciplinary and multi-geography client action plans, both for sales/growth and program delivery and execution

  • Motivate others to achieve execution goals for business and programs/projects

  • Support recruiting efforts aimed at growth of the pipeline group

  • Experience as a Client and/or Program Leader delivering services and projects

  • Experience with various different Federal Agencies considered a must for this role

  • Strong program or project management experience executing projects, to serve as a lead team advisor in support functions and activities to all project execution teams

  • Experience managing teams in various geographical locations, including overseas operations
