This position will fall under the Engineering Product Integrity (EPI) Department within the Mechanical Engineering Directorate (MED). MED provides engineering design, integration and production to a wide range of hardware in Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems (IDS). EPI defines, establishes and leads our hardware engineering environment within MED. Design Integrity is a discipline within EPI responsible for ensuring our hardware designs meet contractual and internal requirements, and are actively engaged in all phases of program execution from start-up through contract closeout.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Individual will investigate pertinent design factors such as ease of manufacture, potential failure modes, design and manufacturing risk and ability to meet contractual specifications, requirements, schedule, quality and cost.
•Individual will utilize Six Sigma tools and techniques including Design for Manufacturability & Assembly (DFMA), Design to Unit Production Cost (DTUPC), and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) to balance affordability, performance and producibility and assist in Transition to Production (TtP) efforts.
•Individual will perform Form Fit Function (FFF) reviews of hardware designs, including the review of tolerance analyses.
•Individual will use computer assisted design (CAD) systems to examine engineering drawings, associated computer aided design (CAD) database files, and related documents for completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy. This includes checking for correctness of materials and processes, conformity to appropriate design/drafting standards and/or military specifications, design specifications, and identifications of potential issues in preparation for manufacturing production.

?Experience checking completed layouts and drawings for areas such as clarity, completeness, conformity to standards, procedures, specifications, and accuracy of calculations and dimensioning
?Experience in hardware design principles
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
?Excellent communication, technical writing oral presentation, and interpersonal skills
?Experience with Common PDM (Windchill)
?Experience using CREO CAD design and documentation tools or equivalent
?Experience with RVTR (Release Validation Tool Replacement)
?Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Power Point/Project)
?Working knowledge of Military and Commercial Specifications
?Knowledge in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
?Knowledge of proactive risk mitigation tools (i.e. DFMA, FMEA, Monte Carlo analysis)
?Experience with current manufacturing systems and processes
?Reliability or failure analysis experience
?Ability to work collaboratively in an Integrated Product Team environment, interfacing with other engineers, Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, Quality, IPT Leadership, Program Managers, and Customers
?Previous experience includes adaptability and willingness to work varying assignments
?Experience ensuring drawings are accurate, complete and dimensioned in support of checking hardware stack-ups, mating interfaces, installation requirements, etc.
?Experience using standard features, creating stack-ups and performing tolerance analyses to ensure hardware integrity
?Experience identifying design errors, omissions, and other deficiencies, and recommending revisions and/or improvements in design layout to responsible team leads, engineers or designers
BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
