Role and Responsibilities

This position supports tasking at the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Patuxent River, MD. Candidate will provide support to the PMA266 program office performing engineering and other related tasks, primarily on the MQ-8 Fire Scout. Additional platforms/programs the candidate may work on include MQ-9 Reaper, MAGTF UAS Expeditionary (MUX), ULS-A / Cargo UAS and Counter UAS. Candidate will perform a wide variety of tasks for the government customer to include requirements development, analysis and traceability, conduct Analyses of Alternatives, Technology Readiness Level analyses, drafting statements of work (SOW), drafting engineering data requirements agreement plans (EDRAP), drafting flight clearances, reviewing contract deliverables, recommended course(s) of action, and recommended issue resolution. Candidate will interface with a variety of integrated team personnel.

Requirements/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in a technical / engineering discipline required; Master’s desired .* *Mini mum of 12 years of experience of in a combination of aircraft test, acquisition and systems engineering and/or military aviation operations required. Experience with, and knowledge of, the DoD acquisition cycle and methodology and systems engineering technical review cycle required. Demonstrated experience at NAVAIR required. Knowledge of USN correspondence development practices and the ability to write formal engineering reports and construct briefing materials using MS Office tools such as Word, Power Point and Excel required.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated experience as a systems engineer / class desk strongly desired. Military aviation (manned or unmanned) experience strongly desired. Graduate of USN or USAF Test Pilot School strongly desired. Must be able to work largely unsupervised in a fast paced, multitasking team environment. Familiarity with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project desired. Familiarity with NAVAIR finance processes and procedures desired.
