Reporting to the SAS General Accounting Manager within the SAS Controller’s organization, the GPD Manager will be part of a dynamic Accounting team responsible for leading the GPD team. This high profile role will partner with business personnel in various functions and levels in the organization to understand issues, evaluate solutions, and support key business initiatives. The successful candidate will apply analytical concepts consistently based on facts and circumstances and be able communicate information effectively across functions and the Business.
Lead, motivate, and develop the SAS GPD Team, including 3 GPD managers and 11 analysts
Provide guidance to managers and team analysts over tasks that include analyzing pegging and distribution errors, facilitating PRISM contract/project closure, processing depot requests, maintaining breakpoints, and working through complex issues and initiatives.
Work with Business Systems Optimization teams to ensure PRISM is functioning properly and approve any technical requests sent to the PRISM Finance User group
Serve as the SAS project lead/representative for initiatives involving PRISM grouping or work order updates
Lead cross-functional teams in analyzing complex problems (e.g. cost shift analysis, pegging errors, inductions, etc.)
Communicate with leaders across Finance and other functions regarding PRISM GPD operations
Responsible for compliance to MMAS financial standards and reporting to DCAA/DCMA
10+ years related work experience
Working knowledge of SAP
Demonstrated ability to lead and coach employees to accomplish daily tasks and drive change
Strong team player with ability to successfully collaborate across functions
Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and communicate effectively to leaders
Experience in preparing and presenting briefings
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Sound analytical and problem solving skills
Proficient working knowledge of the Material Management Accounting System and good understanding of Sarbanes Oxley compliance as relates to Inventory Management
Ability to quickly learn and utilize program management systems and tools (SAP/APEX) and independently create and analyze cost data
Proficient knowledge in SAP with emphasis on GPD
Experience with Estimate at Complete and Earned Value
Required Education (including Major):
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related discipline
