Job Description:

Raytheon IIS seeks a Cyber engineer to be responsible for designing and implementing secure features on a large development project. This work will be focused around authentication and certificates, including acquiring JITC/DoD certificates through AFPKI, using/generating multiple certificate files to support application software (using java keystores, SSL properties files, etc.). In addition, the role includes engineering/designing/integrating Windows and Linux smartcard authentication in support of the project. Development and/or maintenance of design and configuration documentation is part of this role as well; documents will describe PKI, Security Tools, and other Cyber design elements. The overall project consists of several complex compute environments that form the backbone for the operation deployment of a critical, strategic national asset. This position may require some on call support and overtime.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of Public Key Infrastructure, certificate authorities, and related concepts
  • Strong Background in Cyber Security
  • Knowledge of Security Auditing, File Integrity and/or XML Gateway security tools
  • Knowledge of Windows 2008R2, Windows 7, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6, mainly command line interfaces
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex configuration problems or system issues
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing
  • Previous experience with developing or updating technical documents
  • The ability to effectively plan their own work up and the work of others on the team
  • Active US DoD Secret or higher clearance and US Citizenship

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with automation tools such as Chef (preferred), Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack, Fabric or similar products for O/S builds, software installation and configuration
  • Experience with orchestration tools – Rundeck, VMware Orchestrator
  • Experience with engineering/integrating Directory Services (i.e. Windows Active Directory and Centrify)
  • Knowledge of DISA STIG design and implementation
  • Experience in environment hardening to meet IA requirements
  • Knowledge of SCAP (security content automation protocol) scan
  • Understanding of dependencies of patches, including required updates and impacts to Operating Systems, COTS and bespoke software
  • Experience in IA scanning and reporting, including development of IA artifacts such as POAMs
  • Active CompTIA Security+ ce certification
  • CISSP certification
  • Understanding of Change Management processes - Version Control of software and code - GIT, CVS
  • Ability to prepare and present status, plans, and risks to management

Required Education:

Bachelor Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering and 4 years of related work experience.
