The Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) mission area focuses on equipping our customers with mission solutions to access and control the electromagnetic spectrum and providing our customers with the strategic advantage to operate unimpeded in the modern threat environment.
We are looking to hire a Senior Principal Software Engineer for our expanding EWS Team. This is an opportunity to positively influence program execution, work with other leaders to help define future technical direction, and work with cutting edge technologies in products that protect our warfighter.
Typical job functions for the Senior Principal Software Engineer include:
Participation on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams, often employing agile software development techniques and tools to plan, design, develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions.
Being responsible for some or all of a Software product, contributing as a software team member and possibly direct a small software team.
Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support.
Support full software lifecycle, requirements development through test, and be able to take on software development tasks as needed.
Providing guidance, coaching, and training to Junior Engineers.
Working in an Engineering organization with the highest software engineering process maturity level as recognized by the Software Engineering Institute.
Assist in staffing teams to meet ongoing needs.
Minimum 10 years of Professional Software development experience
Experience with C, C++, Ada and/or C#
Prior experience as a technical leader, in collaborating effectively with other program leaders and senior technical contributors, in addition to producing planning and technical work products for internal and external customers
Experience in providing technical and leadership expertise, typically from a base experience as an individual contributor Engineer followed by growth into technical and team leadership positions for software or multi-discipline engineering teams.
Experience with detailed program planning, scheduling and execution
Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and Risk & Opportunity Management
Experience in leading and motivating technical teams or mentoring
Experience with Agile lifecycle process including Scrum, Continuous Integration and Test Driven Development Methodologies
Must have well demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
Current Secret security clearance is mandatory
U.S. Citizenship status is a pre-requisite as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems
Some experience in the Electronic Warfare or related aerospace field, developing deliverable products or simulation tools
Experience with embedded development and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Wind River VxWorks or Green Hills (GH) Integrity.
Hands-on experience with software architecture or signal processing
Experience with agile development methodologies, using Agile Lifecycle Management tools like VersionOne or Rational Team Concert, and including role as a Scrum Master or Product Owner
Basic knowledge of Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOA/D) concepts
Prior programming experience, preferably in C, C++ and/or C#
Hands-on experience with SW Configuration Management and Peer Review tools
MS / MA with a major in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or other related field.
