Job Summary:
Proactively manages all aspects of Environmental compliance for the facility. Provides leadership to plant team members to ensure operations are in compliance with all Federal, State and local regulations including permits and corporate policies. Works closely with all other plant functions to address Management of Change issues on all plant related projects to ensure that impacts on the environment are minimized.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and local environmental and safety regulations as well as Conagra Brands corporate environmental policies.
Perform all activities associated with managing the plant wastewater discharge permit including identification of waste streams for diversion, ensuring wastewater system components are maintained, and ensure all required monitoring and analyses are being performed.
Perform all activities associated with Storm Water compliance.
Perform all activities associated with management of SPCC requirements for the facility.
Manage all waste disposal and recycling activities, including hazardous waste management and disposal. Assess all waste suppliers at least once every three years for compliance with their permits.
Lead/Coordinate sustainable development activities at the facilities, including reduction in utility, energy and material consumption and corporate citizenship efforts.
Implement Conagra Brands Environmental Management System including periodic self-assessment of Environmental Compliance.
Develop and implement training to ensure education of all plant team members on appropriate environmental issues.
Assist with management of the Safety program at the facility.
Coordinate with other departments in managing environmental aspects impacting those departments.
Serve as liaison with community and local and state agencies.
Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the plant and corporate organization.
Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:
Bachelors Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or related field.
Minimum 5-years experience in Environmental and Safety
Excellent proficiency in both written and verbal communication.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Experience in developing and delivering training to adult learners
Competency in using Microsoft office and other computer software
Experience with managing environmental activities at food processing facilities preferred.
