AECOM is seeking a HAZMAT Coordinator to support the Failure and Material Analysis Branch of Flight Systems Division. This position is on-site at NSWC Crane. This candidate will perform tracking and inventory of all Hazmat material for the branch. Candidate must have extensive environmental and HAZMAT experience, detail oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and be able to work well under pressure. The selected candidate will:
Conduct research studies to develop theories or methods of abating or controlling sources of environmental pollutants, utilizing knowledge of principles and concepts of HAZMAT and environmental disciplines.
Determine data collection methods to be employed in research projects and surveys.
Plan and develop research models, using knowledge of mathematical, statistical, and physical science concepts and approaches.
Identify and analyze sources of pollution to determine their effects.
Collect and synthesize data derived from pollution emission measurements, atmospheric monitoring, meteorological and mineralogical information, and soil or water samples.
Perform tracking and inventory of all Hazmat material.
Analyze data to assess pollution problems, establish standards, and develop approaches for control of pollution.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands of the role:
Shop environment with hazardous equipment, moving MHE, obstacles and high volume activity. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds for short distances, stoop, bend, kneel, walk, have full dexterity, and correctable vision. Outside work in hot and cold or wet weather is often required. Work environment often has fumes or airborne particles. Noise level is loud. Protective devices are required to avoid injury.
Vocational/technical training beyond high school, and at least 7 years of job-related experience or equivalent.
Good communication skills; requires operating application software including word-processing and spreadsheet programs.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
