Raytheon IDS IT Cyber Solutions Team has an opening on our team for a Senior Cyber Defense Technologist II to conduct cyber security operations and system sustainment across a wide spectrum of cyber disciplines in support to enclaves or secure networks and to ensure the protection of data against unauthorized disclosure, accidental or intentional loss of data, or unauthorized modification.
This role will allow you to collaborate with and advise a diverse team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information system capabilities. Success in this role means you are able to architect, develop, implement and maintain secure, cost-efficient environments across various classified programs. Program teams rely on you to innovate and improve solutions to automate compliance with the Risk Management Framework. You will be responsible to provide guidance to define computing requirements and create end-to-end solutions to solve complex IT infrastructure problems.

Please note that this role can be located at any IDS Facility in Massachusetts or Rhode Island - with frequent travel required to domestic/local IDS locations as business needs dictate.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency with installing, hardening, and maintaining one or more of the following operating systems:
    • VMware ESXi 6.x
    • Microsoft Windows 7/2008R2 (and newer)
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 and 7
  • Experience working in an Agile environment for developing and delivering solutions quickly and efficiently
  • Experience developing and configuring cross-domain cyber solutions that reduce risk and increase compliance with RMF controls.
  • Familiarity with DoD hardening requirements for compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Familiarity with IT Network Architecture
  • Possess an active US Dept. of Defense (DOD) Secret Security Clearance. Except in rare cases, only US Citizens are eligible to obtain US Secret Security clearances.

  • Strong communications/presentation skills and ability to explain difficult concepts to a variety of skill levels
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team and self-manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet set deadlines
  • Eager to learn and solve problems
  • Security+ Certification (CISSP preferred)
  • Experience with:
    • Encryption Technology: Bitlocker, LUKS, PKI, SafeNet
    • Automation: batch scripting, bash scripting, VBScript, PowerShell, Ansible
    • Patch Management
    • Anti-malware
    • Multifactor Authentication methods
    • Data Loss Prevention
    • Insider Threat Detection
    • Network environments
    • Storage solutions
    • Authentication methods such as Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, SSSD, Centrify
    • Active Directory Group policy
Required Education (including Major):
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, Management Information Technology, Information Assurance.
  • Significant equivalent years of experience (at the hiring manager's discretion) will be considered in lieu of a degree.
