Raytheon Missile Systems (RMS) is looking for an experienced contracts professional to provide U.S. Government contracting leadership in support of its Kill Vehicle (KV) programs and upcoming follow-on proposal efforts. The Raytheon Missile Systems Kill Vehicle Programs support the latest generation of Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) technology aimed at protecting the United States from Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) and nuclear attack, and operates in partnership with industry partners and the Missile Defense Agency. The KV program is a long standing franchise within the RMS portfolio and the ideal job for a contracts professional ready to make a difference at Raytheon and in the defense of the US and its allies.

As a Contracts team member, this position requires the right candidate to provide business counsel and contribute to the strategic growth goals of the business. The scope of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: front-end engagement in structuring sound business arrangements, developing negotiation strategies, leading contract negotiations, providing governance to the program team in carrying out the terms of the contract, offering solutions to mitigate contractual/program risks, acting as the official point of contact with the customer for all contractual matters, and driving closure to contractual issues. This assignment requires an ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with the Boeing Company, DCMA, and the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The role primarily operates from Tucson, AZ with minimal domestic travel.

US Citizenship is required as this position needs an active US Security Clearance as of day one of employment

Required Education, Skills, & Abilities:
  • 10 years of experience in domestic contract administration, including proposal preparation and contract negotiation
  • BA/BS in Business, Management, Business Law, Finance, Contracts, Legal Studies, or related discipline
  • Experience working with FAR, DFARS, TINA, ITAR, etc. and/or equivalent government regulations
  • Excel in understanding the financial aspects of program deliverables, such as funding reports, and of other business reviews, such as EAC reviews.
  • Existing DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience administering change management protocols (ie. tracking requirements, scope creep, customer notifications, and definitization of new work into the contract baseline)
  • Experience establishing and/or maintaining complete, organized, and assessable files for complex contracts of mixed contract types and multiple line items
  • Experience as the contract lead on large proposals and contracts (>$50M/year)
  • U.S Citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
  • MBA or JD
  • Prior experience with Boeing and/or missile defense market
  • Cross-functional experience in Law, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Development, or Program Management
  • Top Secret DOD Clearance
