The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) program is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy (USN).

We are seeking a NAVY CRANE OPERATOR for our Jacksonville, Florida location.


Operates a U.S. Navy provided 300 ton or above lattice boom hydraulic crawler crane to perform dry-docking, undocking, and transport of U.S. Navy watercraft and equipment. Operates other heavy equipment to include a 150 ton Mobile Boat Hoist (self-propelled straddle crane), U.S. Navy transporter(s), and Extended Boom Forklift (EBFL 11K). Complies with NAVFAC P-307 Weight Handling Program Management policies, licensing, and procedures. Performs normal/routine operator's maintenance and inspections in accordance with applicable technical manuals, NAVFAC P-307, and established ISO procedures to maintain Navy Cranes and equipment in good working order. Provides technical assistance, guidance, or training to lower level operators and riggers. Complies with U.S. Marine Corps’ and company’s health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture, policies, and procedures. Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with customer and co-workers. Works cooperatively with a team in a fast-paced and complex environment. Performs other tasks as assigned.


High school graduate or equivalent.

Five years of directly related work experience, shipyard experience preferred.

Current NCCCO, NCCER, or NACB certificate (within two years) for 300 ton or above Lattice Boom Crawler Crane (LBC), Hydraulic Machinery

Must pass Drug Test, Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Examiner’s Certificate, and Background check.

Successfully complete applicable NAVFAC P-307 licensing requirements and General Crane Safety Course/Refresher for Category 1 Cranes; lattice boom crawler crane and mobile boat hoist.

Working knowledge of cranes; electrical, mechanical, structural, hydraulic, and record keeping systems.

Working knowledge of crane load chart calculations, rigging gear, and rigging gear inspections.

Ability to read and interpret written instructions.

Ability to communicate effectively.

Physical ability to perform assigned crane related tasks: prolonged sitting, walking, standing, and bending.

Physical ability to perform related and assigned tasks (lift, push and pull 35 pounds).

Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
