Job Summary

AECOM has an exciting opportunity in Afghanistan on the EAGLE contract for a LNO/Planner. The LNO represents AC FIRST in US Military meetings as the single Point of Contact to provide information or recommendations and to collect requirements. Interfaces with US Military, Manager – Program Operations and associated subordinate staff sections for situational awareness and advisor opportunities. Attends key planning and operational meetings for Operations, Transportation, Maintenance retrograde activities at various AC FIRST and US Military levels. Coordinates with Directorates/Projects for responses to data calls or reports required by US Military. Participates in periodic teleconferences with AECOM/GSG, Rock Island Contracting Center and others as required. Attends AC FIRST senior manager meetings to remain aware of current actions. Develops Power Point presentations for US Military clients and AC FIRST meetings as required. Prepares periodic operational reports as directed by Manager – Program Operations or AC FIRST management. Processes, handles and stores classified and sensitive documents IAW Army Regulations. Prepares long range calendar and planning efforts consisting of 30, 60, 90, and 120 days. Coordinates and receives Program Orders (OPORDs), FRAGOs, and Letters of Technical Direction (LOTDs) from Project Operations and helps to create Project OPORDs and FRAGOs. Develops projections of requirements of the work force for the next 30, 60, 90, and 120 days. Proactively develops and/or identifies changes in work scope and ensures appropriate planning measures are taken with internal and external clients to assess, reassess, and amend scope of work responsibilities. Updates the Project Management Office (Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager) on the status of all OPORDs and Letters of Technical Direction. Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Secret, Tier 3

  • Valid driver’s license required.

  • Must be Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certified or obtained within 90 days after arrival in country.Bachelors Degree required.

  • 0 years experience in military or business operations required.

  • 5 years Supervisory experience required.

  • 3 years Support Operation experience required

  • Prior US Military Field Grade Officer preferred.

  • Battle Staff Course or experience in a headquarters military staff preferred.

  • Must have strong knowledge of maintenance, supply and transportation processes.

  • Must have demonstrated leadership and management skills, including a professional demeanor.

  • Must have communication skills in English, both verbal and written, at an advanced level.

  • Must be able to exercise discretion and good judgment, with an ability to understand the second and third order of effects for decisions.

  • Must be able to work effectively with all levels of employees, including management levels.

  • Must be able to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.

  • Must be able to prioritize responsibilities effectively.

  • Must have strong analytical skills, including the ability to extract, compile and analyze data.

  • Must have high level of proficiency in the use of MS Office, including Must be able to prepare and deliver PowerPoint presentations.

  • Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Must have knowledge of and experience with MDMP (Military Decision Making Process).

  • Performs other duties as assigned. Word, Excel, Outlook and other related applications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters degree preferred.

  • Bachelors degree required.
