Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Bridge Design Engineer for employment in the Tampa, FL office. AECOM’s Tampa office is responsible for a wide variety of bridge and transportation-related structures’ ranging from conventional overpasses, complex interchanges and signature structures including segmental, extradosed and cable-stay bridges.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to those listed below:

  • Preparing and checking design calculations for bridges and other transportation related structures

  • Drawing review and checking

  • Quantity calculations

  • Shop drawing review

  • Preparation of reports and specifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural engineering

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Mathcad, MicroStation software and be familiar with at least one structural analysis software package

  • Candidate should be detail oriented and should have strong skills in structural analysis, steel, and concrete design; and the ability to work in a team environment.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, time management skills, a strong work ethic, and a willing desire to learn

  • Passed FE Exam, or able to obtain FE within 1 year of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program

  • Internship or co-op experience

  • Experience in Florida DOT projects
