AECOM is seeking a junior to mid-level design ecologist or landscape architect/designer to work with staff to support the development of a growing Restoration Design practice. All candidates, regardless of discipline, need to bring a strong technical understanding of ecology, botany, and technical design. Prior experience with supervision and or assistance to landscape subcontractors for native plant and native seed collection, installation, maintenance, and ecological management projects is favorable. Candidates must have a desire to work with a multi-disciplinary team in a technical design capacity with engineers, planners, urban designers, economists and landscape architects.
Assist with conceptual drawings related to ecological restoration and landscape design projects.
Perform analyses related to infrastructure, ecological restoration, and/or development.
Assist with production of construction documents, plans, specifications and cost estimates.
Assist with preparation of mitigation and monitoring reports.
Demonstrate knowledge of wetland permits and wetland delineation reports.
Supervise and conduct field ecological surveys and data analysis.
Perform technical work, calculations and cost estimating.
Assist with technical writing and report preparation.
Research and document findings related to sustainability and drought tolerant landscape.
Understand grading and drainage plans.
Professional experience in private consulting
Demonstrated technical writing skills
Demonstrated experience developing landscape and restoration design solutions
Experience preparing construction documents (i.e. plan sets, specifications, cost estimating) and monitoring construction performance
Demonstrated problem solving experience
Attention to detail,
Ability to work independently,
Strong organizational skills,
Willingness to learn in a fast paced environment,
Interest in sustainability
Excellent technical writing capabilities are required.
Additionally, candidates shall have developed skills in the following areas: Microsoft Office, Excel computational skills, proficiency with AutoCAD/GIS
BA/BS + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education
