Raytheon IIS/GIS provides Operations and Maintenance support for the Intelligence Community
The work location for this position is south of the Annapolis, MD area. This is a continuous rotating Shift Hardware Engineering & Maintenance Team position supporting operations and maintenance for a large scale RF Communication’s system operating in a real time 24x7 environment. Primary responsibility will be to provide operations and maintenance shift support for a large, integrated, complex hardware-software communications system. Responsibilities include preventative and corrective maintenance support across multiple external interfaces over a robust multi-tiered network. Direct interaction with the Ops customer and mission partners is required to provide technical assessment and operational work around recommendations. Daily activities may include, but are not limited to discrepancy report work off and resolution, O&M training/mentoring, trending, procedure development, data collection, fault isolation and performing real-time manual actions to restore system capabilities. Assistance in development of troubleshooting/recovery plans and execution of associated management and customer briefs may also be required. Participation in corrective maintenance will require remove/replace, repair, and testing failed hardware. Candidate will work closely with delivering factories to provide support to development activities, installation efforts and special test configurations. Candidate should have a solid working knowledge of various test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum/link/network analyzers, power meters and signal generation equipment. Performance of maintenance activities will include climbing multiple sets of stairs, lifting/carrying up to 50lbs, and working in non-environment-controlled work spaces. Strict adherence to all applicable administrative, safety and security policies is required.
The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The hire date is contingent on successful completion of TS/SCI/ Security Clearance and CI Polygraph.
•Technical experience with RF communication antennas and associated transmit and receive hardware systems, including wide band applications
•Experience with customer-built and COTs-based high speed networks, IT systems, and real-time software applications supporting communications systems
•Strong oral and written communication skills
•Knowledge of or ability to understand networks, IT systems, and real-time software applications supporting communications systems
•Must be available to work 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts through a weekly rotation that includes two weekends a month to support 24x7 staffing requirements
•Must be able to climb multiple sets of stairs, lift/carry up to 50lbs, and work in non-environment-controlled work spaces
•Knowledge of or ability to understand RF communications antennas
•Current TS/SCI clearance with CI Poly
•Previous experience on existing custom subsystems with current qualifications is highly desired
•Leadership experience on small maintenance teams
•Knowledge and experience with facility support systems for RF ground terminal systems (power, HVAC, etc.)
•Prior military electronics and/or satellite communications training/experience
•Experience with microprocessor and FPGA applications
Required Education (including Major):
•University Degree in a related field plus a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant work experience
