Nuclear Waste Partnership, an LLC of AECOM, has exciting opportunities for
Internships at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
NWP is the Managing & Operating Contractor for the Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) located near Carlsbad, New Mexico. NWP is an AECOM led partnership, which includes BWXT Technical Services Group, Inc. and ORANO Federal Services LLC.
The WIPP underground facilities comprise a mine constructed and maintained at a depth of 2,150 feet below the surface, within the Salado Formation found in southeastern New Mexico. This formation is primarily composed of evaporates to include halite (rock salts) common to the Permian Basin region of the Southwestern United States. The formation also includes a number of clay seams (layers) at various depths throughout the formation. The underground facility (the mine) serves as a permanent storage facility for transuranic nuclear waste which is a by-product of the nation’s nuclear weapons production programs.
NWP is hiring college students for 2020 summer internships in a variety of disciplines which may include:

This is a paid Internship based on competitive market pay. You may be eligible for Company sponsored housing and reimbursement of travel expenses as outlined in NWP'S Temporary Assignment Policy.
Must be 18 or older.
Must be a US Citizen due to the nature of the project.
Must be in a degree program that is relevant to the project.
Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college/university (high school students enrolled in college classes are not eligible).
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or better.
Must have completed at least 60 credit hours toward a degree and have a Junior or Senior classification.
Must successfully pass a background verification and pre-employment drug screen.
Must supply a current copy of your college transcript.
Interns will be required to prepare and deliver a presentation about their experience before the end of the summer.
