Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking a Mining Quality Inspector to join our project team in Sparwood, British Columbia. This is a Full Time position on a 14/14 rotation. Living Out allowance and flights are provided.

Responsible for the systematic implementation of a quality management system for a project, service, business area, or geographic location.

Responsibilities

  • Under general direction, technically supervises quality projects or major phases of significant quality projects, coordinating the efforts of technical support staff in the performance of assigned project.

  • Possesses and applies comprehensive knowledge to the completion of significant quality assignments.

  • Provides leadership for quality assurance and quality control support on assigned program(s) and/or areas to ensure that the project is designed, procured and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.

  • Provides leadership for new systems, development, proposals, implementation, procedures and any related quality activity.

  • Develops and applies advanced quality assurance/control theories, as well as research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced technical problems on the forefront of new technologies.

  • Analyzes, evaluates and plans methods of approach, as well as organizes means to achieve solution of complex technical problems.

  • Reviews project process and evaluate results.

  • Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services.

  • Makes frequent decisions using principles and professional independent judgment.

  • Conducts investigations and tests that are of moderate to considerable complexity.

  • Provides technical consultation to lower level engineers, technicians and inspectors.

  • Timely completion of inspection test plan documentation for quality turnover package.

Conditions of Employment for this position are:

  1. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.

  2. Qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - Oil & Gas Business Unit.

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma/Certificate + 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Proficient in MS office (word, excel, outlook)

  • Great verbal and written communication skills

  • Able to travel, if and when required

  • Construction Safety Ticket - CSTS-09 or PST or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with quality management system for a project, service, business area, or geographic location is preferred.

  • Mining / Maintenance Services / Industrial project experience is preferred including rock bolting, shotcrete and grout.
