Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team in support of a Navy Contract in Dahlgren, VA.

Essential Responsibilities:


Research and analyze data such as customer design proposal, specifications, and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application.


Design products or systems in support of facilities' infrastructure, research, or maintenance requirements.


Coordinate, troubleshoot, and approve installation activities as inspection services to ensure

Minimum Requirements

  • Eight (8) years’ experience in analysis and mechanical design of hardware and firmware to include the following:

  • Experience in the creation of system and component level of technical engineering documentation.

  • Experience in maintenance of information systems Solidworks and peripheral test equipment utilized in a laboratory environment. Experience in interpretation and application of military and industry specifications as they relate to development of information systems.

  • Experience in creation and validation of work instructions and assembly drawings, in accordance with ASME Y14 Series Standards, to be utilized by information system manufacturers.

  • Experience with system design software, such as Computer Aided Design and state of the art software for system and component design.

  • Experience in areas of shipboard installation, maintenance, and repair of information systems supporting naval combat operations.

  • Must be US Citizen

  • Must have active Secret clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in areas of shipboard installation, maintenance, and repair of information systems supporting naval combat operations is desired.
