AECOM is seeking a 2nd shift Industrial Maintenance Technician III to join our production maintenance team of multi-skilled technicians in a jet engine manufacturing facility in Durham, NC.
This position requires an understanding of basic electrical and mechanical maintenance concepts, a great attitude, and the willingness to learn technical skills in an industrial / manufacturing environment.
The Industrial Maintenance Technician III is responsible for responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance on the buildings and facilities equipment, fixtures and systems.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, provide plumbing, pipe-fitting, welding/fabrication, carpentry services and duties related to plant maintenance to assist higher level maintenance personnel. Perform a variety of preventive maintenance tasks on all types of facilities equipment, such as replacing lamps and repairing lighting systems; perform inspections; lubrication; cleaning; filter changes, etc.
Conducts planned preventive maintenance inspections and performs required preventative maintenance actions as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Assists the team with planned preventive maintenance on production machines and equipment.
Assists the team with planned preventive maintenance of electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Assists the team with office and shop floor rearrangements, assembly of shelving and workbenches.
Assists the team with cutting, threading and fitting of utility lines and water lines.
Assists the team in rodding/snaking clogged sewer/drains lines.
Assist the team with rigging/millwright work for machine moves.
Assists the team with painting, drywall and touch up.
Ability to read engineering blueprints.
Effective time and project management.
Reviews and submits work order updates to planner scheduler.
Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers, diagnostic hardware, fork truck and scissor lifts to perform work.
Operates a PC with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Demonstrates flexible in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.

High School diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
Three years of experience performing general fabrication with Mig, maintenance or repairs in an automotive, residential, commercial, warehouse, or industrial environment, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to work in an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test.
This position may require a valid Driver’s License.

This position will require the ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
This position may require various shifts, weekends, and alternative work schedules.
Requires the ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Some tasks will require repetitive wrist movement.

Requires the ability to climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs as needed during a workday.
Requires the flexibility to bend/stoop, squat, kneel, reach/stretch, and move in a 90-degree fashion during workday.
Requires the ability to differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding.
Requires ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
Requires ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
Requires ability to attend meetings throughout the site and potentially travel to other AECOM, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
Requires the ability to communicate with others on the telephone and in one-on-one or group discussions, meetings and presentations.
Demonstrated fluency in computer use including the full Microsoft product line.
Requires the ability to interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress.
Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Experience making repairs to building structure such as doors, floors, walls, etc.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing lighting systems.
Knowledge of mechanical equipment and systems, such as motors, plumbing, conveyor systems, and coolant systems.
Experience in maintenance in an industrial, large commercial, or warehouse environment.
Experience safely utilizing a wide variety of hand and power tools.
Basic computer skills for data entry, email, etc.
