Position Responsibilities
Delivers on all SQCDSM targets for the department
Manages cost to budget, drive losses out with direct impact on safety (TIR, near misses, first aids, etc), reduction of quality defects (Cpm, consumer complaints, ppm, defect level, etc), improvement of OEE / Efficiency through application of TPM
Develop core team member capabilities to deliver Zero Accident, Zero Quality Defect, Zero Losses
Conducts regular PDCA with the team to plan how the targets are going to be achieved, executes the plan and periodically checks and takes necessary actions to stay on track
Runs and improves the DMS / DDS cycle, guarantee excellent quality at all DMS / DDS levels, setting the 24 hour direction for, responsible for all line level reporting
Builds capability and develops the team related to TPM as well as other areas;
Plan coordinate, monitor and improve all planned activities (sanitation, c/o, PM, AM, etc)
Hourly results monitoring with clear escalation process for quick resolution
Develop and execute plant production strategies
Manages all Production resources to achieve and maintain plant targets and goals
Facilitates kaizen events, 5 S efforts, and liaises with other department leaders in the plant
Develop and execute annual plant operations budget
Build rapport with Maintenance Manager and establish systematic ways of working with hourly operators and hourly technicians (want this reworded – sounds to soft)
Develop supervisory team and its ability to lead effectively
Be an active leader and liaison for all Safety related programs and initiatives
Work ‘hand-in-hand’ with the Quality Manager on all product quality matters
Implement cost savings improvement projects (needs to be reworded – sounds to soft)
Want something about driving items to root cause – even if the ops dept doesn’t do the RCA to want to ensure all RCA are done so nothing happens again
Something about growing the business (since we will be adding 2 new lines)
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated ability to lead all areas of manufacturing in a fast-paced, food production plant
Demonstrated ability to identify and execute cost savings projects with a zero loss mindset
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a matrix organization
Ability to manage a complex budget and adhere to cost plans and annual plant initiatives
Strong analytical skills using tools such as statistics, downtime tracking, mechanical history, project planning to identify opportunity areas
Creative in problem solving and innovative approaches to resolve complex problems
Microsoft Office skills such as PowerPoint, Project, Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to quickly come up to speed on complex production processes and work with others to identify opportunities areas via data
Strong ability to lead effectively and develop subordinates for advancement opportunities
Ability to partner with other departments to resolve complex problems and work jointly to find solutions
15 years of relevant work experience
Preferred concentration in operations management
Hands on oriented, with solid previous experience leading manufacturing operations in a leadership role (operations manager or similar, continuous improvement manager, etc)
Sound project management skills, proven experience successfully leading initiatives
Practical experience with continuous improvement methodologies (TPM, Lean)
Organizational transformation (change management); High Performance Working systems as a plus

EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or related field - required
Masters’ degree in related field - preferred
