Successful candidates will be based out of the Middleton office and may from time to time travel during the day or evenings to project sites, client meetings, or other AECOM offices. Successful candidates will be expected to work independently and in design teams to advance projects through the WisDOT process.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Builds analytic and design skills
Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer
Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer
Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer
Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems
Structural design, report writing, cost estimating, and possibly construction oversite and field survey assistance. The focus will be on transportation-related projects in support of the highway and bridge engineering staff.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision
Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in structural design.
Experience in transportation related projects.
Engineer-in-Training or ability to obtain EIT (FE) registration within 6 months is required.
Familiarity with Civil 3D/AutoCAD or MicroStation
Familiarity with MathCAD, STAAD, Leap Bridge Concrete, MDX, and CSi Bridge
Familiarity with WisDOT Design Standards including the WisDOT Bridge Manual and WisDOT Facilities Development Manual
Familiarity with general transportation design standards including AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications AASHTO Green Book
Familiarity with WisDOT Construction Standards including WisDOT Standard Specifications and Material Certifications
GPS and Survey equipment knowledge
