Raytheon is seeking a Software Architect for the Mission Management Command and Control (M2C2) system.

M2C2 software engineers are developing a next generation, cutting-edge, extensible framework for Mission Management, Command & Telemetry, and Flight Dynamics. Our complex domain requires innovative solutions to meet evolving customer needs. On M2C2 you will work with teams of talented engineers to develop and improve advanced algorithms that handle large data sets with complex constraints.

The M2C2 Mission Engineering Architecture Team needs a Software Architect to support current development and modernization initiatives. The Software Architect will define, develop and prototype software capabilities and interfaces, as well as modernize the mission applications. The role will be focused on evolving the current software architecture to support customer-defined requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Active TS/SCI level clearance
  • 6+ years of demonstrated engineering experience in systems engineering and/or software engineering
  • Experience in Java, C++ and Agile SW Development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to interact and present technical concepts to senior levels of management and customers
  • Knowledge of satellite ground systems, including hardware, software, and communications architecture.
  • Knowledgeable of systems engineering roles and functions, including operations concept development, requirements management, functional analysis, interface definition and control, integration, verification and validation.
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Strong system engineering, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple competing priorities and deadline constraints requiring rapid turnarounds
  • Experience managing personal and team resources to meet assigned deadlines
  • Experience with CONOPS / OPSCON development
  • Experience with requirements development and maintenance
  • Experience in software interface definition, documentation, and implementation
  • Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of tools (including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience documenting software architecture using UML
  • Occasional travel is required

Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of M2C2 legacy software architecture
  • Experience developing and reviewing DODAF architecture views
  • Knowledge of and experience with micro service architectures
  • Knowledge of and experience with cloud computing architectures
  • Knowledge of and experience with Docker containers
  • Experience with development of software solutions for real-time system monitoring, reporting, and fault analysis
  • Experience in development of satellite data handling and processing software
  • Experience with system availability and system latency analyses and design considerations
  • Experience with IBM Rational DOORS and IBM Rational Rhapsody tools
  • Experience with engineering cost estimation
  • Raytheon certified for creation of Technical Description and Basis of Estimates (TDBOEs) or equivalent
  • Knowledge of DevOps methodologies
  • Knowledge of and experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery concepts
  • Qualified Raytheon Six Sigma Specialist or equivalent

Required Education:

B.S./B.A. in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Math, or a Science.
