The Business Development (BD) Senior Manager for Strategic and Missile Defense Systems within Strategic and Naval Systems (SNS) will be responsible to the SNS Business Development Executive for the development, management and alignment of growth plans, strategies, and capture initiatives with regards to both International & Domestic new business and growth opportunities for SM-3 Blk IB, SM-3 Blk IIA, EKV/RKV, NGKV/NGI or other SNS programs as assigned. This position will also support key pursuits to sustain and grow Raytheon market positions in missile defense. The position is part of the SNS Business Development organization and reports directly to the SNS VP, Business Development Executive.
The Strategic and Missile Defense Systems portfolio within SNS consists of all variants of the Standard Missile-3 Block IB, Standard Missile-3 Block IIA, Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle (EKV), Redesigned EKV (RKV), Advanced Kill Vehicles, and European Missile Defense efforts.
The selected candidate will, at the direction of the BD Director, Executive BD leadership and Product Line leadership, represent the interests of RMS to the Missile Defense Agency, the U.S. Navy and other associated customers to include potential international allies and partners.
The successful candidate will work to ensure alignment and prudent integration of the organization's domestic & international resources in an effort to maximize both short and long term new business & growth opportunities.
This role includes coordination across Missile Systems' divisions and their current business pursuits and close partnership with Raytheon's Corporate BD, to include Raytheon International. The candidate must have a balanced understanding of the substantive issues of and customer needs of the Missile Defense Agency and the U.S. Navy, as well as pertinent policy-level issues revolving around the missile defense mission, and Homeland Defense. A solid understanding of the STANDARD Missile products / solutions and additional understanding of our Intermediate and Short Range Defense Systems including ESSM, RAM, SeaRAM and Phalanx is also required.
Major Responsibilities Include:
Ensuring the Strategic and Missile Defense Systems organization achieves all financial metrics related to bookings & sales as stipulated by the SNS Business Development Executive
Required Experience and Skills:
The ideal candidate will exhibit proactive & innovative management styles as seen through previous professional experience. This individual will have the ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously and will have demonstrated experience in entrepreneurial environments related to expansion and revenue generation. Further, the successful candidate will be technically conversant as proven through either traditional education, or direct experience as a means to be effective within both the business development and customer communities unique to this position. Further, the successful candidate will have strong business acumen through education and experience in developing and promoting business cases for company investment and partnering.
At least 12 years of progressively responsible career experience, demonstrating ability to acclimate to increasing levels of responsibility
Master's Degree (MBA Preferred)

Bachelor's Degree (Business, Economic, Political Science/International Affairs, Engineering)
