The Global Positioning System Advanced Control Segment (GPS OCX) Raytheon team is responsible for full life cycle engineering on state of the art environmental, commercial, & sensing systems for government & commercial applications.

GPS OCX is seeking talented software engineers to join our software team. The candidate must have experience and knowledge with software engineering using object oriented methodologies. The candidate will work closely with systems engineers, integrators, testers, and customers to design, develop and support software applications throughout the development and maintenance life cycle. Candidates must be a US Citizen and hold an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities include design, develop, integrate and maintain new software functionality. Planning and performing test automation involving definition and implementation of test and verification requirements. Participate in software automated test readiness reviews, and participate in software design reviews. General supervision is received from a designated supervisor. Limited supervision is received through periodic review or objectives and results from a designated manager.

This position is eligible for a Sign on Bonus up to $40K for a candidate with a current Secret clearance that can be verified and hired at Raytheon.

Required Skills: Must possess an active US DoD Secret or higher clearance and US CitizenshipHands on user experience with Test Automation tools (Gherkin or Cucumber) Knowledge of or experience with Eclipse, JavaScript (including JQuery) 2+ years of experience in the following:

  • Object-oriented software design and development using Java, including JUnit unit testing
  • JEE / J2EE experience, including Application Server (JBoss, Weblogic, etc.), Java Persistence
  • Architecture (JPA), Spring framework
  • Developing scripts to support test efforts for the software build cycles
  • Preparing test procedures and test procedure execution
  • Utilizing discrepancy report systems
  • Working within Integrated Product Teams
  • Specifying test verification requirements
  • C++
Ability to troubleshoot complex configuration problems or system issues.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both written and oral
Desired Skills:
  • Understanding of DevOps concepts
  • The ability to effectively plan their own work up and the work of others on the team
  • Experience preparing and presenting reports and briefings both orally and written

  • Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or Physics and 2 years of related work experience
