Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an I&C Engineer V or VI to be based at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, Texas.

Candidate will be working as part of a team of Engineers and Designers at Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant on Instrumentation and Control modification packages. Work will include engineering of revisions to existing plant digital systems, level, pressure, flow and temperature instruments, and cyber security evaluations. Candidate must complete complex engineering assignments including preparation of specifications, logic diagrams, system functional descriptions, and work packages including , instrument data sheets, calculations, and modifications to existing plant drawings; provide support to proposals, prepare purchase requisitions; review vendor drawings and develop cost and budget estimates and schedules and scope of work documents. Candidate will lead or participate in stakeholder meetings and perform plant walkdowns to ensure the client is satisfied with our work product.

Minimum Requirements

I&C Engineer V

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering plus 8 years of relevant experience in engineering / design of control systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

I&C Engineer VI

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering plus 10 years of relevant experience in engineering / design of control systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Experience to include:

  • Must have good oral communication and technical writing skills and experience working in a multi-discipline team environment

  • Candidate should be self-motivated, take ownership of work, and require little supervision for assigned projects or tasks

  • Preparation of specifications for Distributed Control Systems (DCS) or Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for control of plant process/auxiliary systems.

  • Preparation and review of logic diagrams and system functional descriptions for implementation of system control logic into the DCS/PLC.

  • Experience evaluating and specifying pressure, temperature, flow, level process instrumentation

  • Experience preparing engineering drawings including but not limited to wiring diagrams and schematics, P&IDs, logic diagrams, instrument hookups, etc.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools, including Word and Excel to prepare written reports and spreadsheets

  • Must be able to obtain unescorted access into a nuclear power plant.

  • Due to the nature of this work, candidate must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • PE Certification

  • Familiar with NEI 08-09 and experience with performing cyber security assessments

  • Field experience at an operating nuclear power plant
