The Business Planning Technologist is responsible for supporting process and technical projects for the Management System and Governance Department. The candidate will represent the Business at Corporate process related activities and collaborate with subject matter experts to drive the adoption of common practices. Responsibilities include maintaining alignment with overlapping improvement initiatives, maintain traces from business requirements to corporate policies and industry standards, and work with cross functions and disciplines to drive standardizations across the organization.

The Business Planning Technologist will also participate in yearly goal planning for the Department and serve as the technical expert to help shape the improvement projects for the Business Command Media system. The candidate will work closely with the Business Command Media release control team to deliver monthly communications to program leads, identify process gaps, analyze metrics, and identify tools that support automation. In addition, the candidate will interact and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain disciplines to develop requirements, project schedule, and training for business initiatives and occasionally participate in appraisals to ensure high maturity standards.

Required Skills:

  • 10 years related experience
  • Strong project management skills, including management of budget and schedule
  • Experience with leading and managing command media systems
  • Advocate for process improvement (R6s Specialist or obtain in 1 year; CMMI knowledge)
  • Able to effectively express ideas in written and verbal form
  • Proven experience generating and presenting communication and training material
  • Demonstrated problem solving, multitasking, communication and influence skills required
  • Experience in coordinating efforts across multiple functions, managing conflicting schedules and priorities
  • Able to build strong relationships and effectively partner with internal resources
  • Ability to work with little supervision and direction
  • Proficient computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Active DoD Secret clearance
  • US Citizen

Desired Skills:
  • 5+ years participating in design and development activities
  • Knowledge in configuration management and control tools i.e. Rational ClearCase, ClearQuest, PDM, Defect Logger, iTracker
  • Knowledge of Programming Languages (SQL, Java, ColdFusion, HTML, Javascript)
  • Knowledge of Databases (MySQL, ORACLE 9.0, 8.0, 7.X.)
  • Experience in CMMI, ISO/AS 9100, quality concepts and general understanding of aerospace/defense regulations and standards
  • Experience with Static Analysis tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of Quality Engineering Principles

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Technology, or Quality
