Supervisor, Control Systems Support (CSS) (WMC)

Description

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistics services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) and U.S. Navy.

We are seeking a Control Systems Support (CSS) Supervisor- WMC for our Jacksonville, Florida location.

Position Responsibilities:

Supervises the activities of Control Systems Support (CSS) Technicians and provides maintenance and logistic support to the Navy and technicians who are performing duties involving SYSALTS, the assembly, fabrication, troubleshooting, testing, repair, modification, and general maintenance of electrical systems, equipment or components on U.S. Navy Improved Naval Lighterage System (INLS) Warping Tugs, Causeway Ferry Power Modules, and Beach Modules.

Responsible for equipment readiness, maintenance group work assignments, inventory and control of maintenance assets. Determines sequence and assignment of work on basis of work priority, scheduled milestones, and quantity of equipment to obtain optimal use of equipment, facilities and employees. Develops standard work procedures, TSTI’s, and detailed work instructions for maintenance and inspection processes in an accordance with NAVSEA standards. Performs responsibilities as a competent person in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR Standard 1915 for confined/enclosed spaces. Maintains and ensure compliance with ISO-9001 and ISO 14001 procedures and work instructions, administrative policies, and government regulations. Ensures employees are properly trained in all maintenance functions. Conducts underway sea trial testing periodically (during normal working hours) and quality control of work to ensure compliance with specifications and time schedules. Ensures employees adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies. Supervises the requisitioning, receipt, and allocation of tools, parts, and material. Recommends or initiates personnel actions, such as rewards and recognition, promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary actions. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other Duties:

  • Serves as the customer interface for technical, operational, and administrative information and for resolving technical issues.
  • Provides semi-professional technical support for NEPO SSA engineers working in development and testing of INLS Technical Refresh. Work pertains to the modification/alteration of electrical, electronic, and mechanical components, equipment, and systems.
  • Reports daily production status to local ACB Port Engineers, NEPO SSA representatives, and KBR management team in Jacksonville, FL.
  • Inspects work performed to ensure compliance with specifications and time schedules.
  • Interprets specifications, drawings, work orders, technical instructions, and layouts.
  • Coordinates department activities with other departments.
  • Conducts functional and performance tests on completed work assignments.
  • Ensures employees adhere to all safety requirements, procedures, and policies. Performs safety risk identification and assessment, rapid problem solving, and injury/accident investigation.
  • Travel is required between ACB-1 in Coronado, CA and ACB-2 in Little Creek, VA. Per-diem is authorized and employees are authorized round trip travel to their home location for a 4 day unpaid weekend once about every 30-45 working days.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA degree/or course work towards a BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. In lieu of degree, a combination of college credits or other formalized training and education, and directly related work experience may be considered.
  • Complete the Navy Electrical Repair Course or equivalent.
  • Complete U. S. Navy or Coast Guard basic level "A") and advanced level ("C") schools for Electrician’s Mate (EM).
  • Ten (10) years of directly related work experience in corrective and preventative maintenance control and scheduling processes utilizing various computer programs and systems.
  • Eight (8) years of supervisory experience. Possess in-depth working knowledge of Navy Preventive Maintenance System (PMS) and Navy deck equipment and sub systems
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical circuitry, electrical principles and formulas, and their practical application to the equipment and systems repaired.
  • Thorough knowledge of electronic circuitry and theory relative to a marine equipment/systems.
  • Ability to apply a knowledge of mechanical theory and of pneumatic and hydraulic principles to isolate, repair, or replace faulty components.Ability to apply knowledge of wire color codes, symbols, layout sheets, wiring diagrams, schematics, technical orders, and manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Must possess the ability to safely utilize ladders; work at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
  • Working knowledge of ship or watercraft Main Plant operation, Auxiliary and Hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.

  • Have strong written and communication skills.
  • Have intermediate level working knowledge of Microsoft Office software; Outlook, Word, Power Point, Excel, Access and OMMS-NG.
  • Must have a current security clearance or be able to obtain a security clearance to access government websites.
