AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Business Developer for employment in the Southern CA area to cover CA and HI markets.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Developing and leading business development strategies and activities for energy projects in the Southern CA and HI markets with municipal and private sector clients
Identifying and cultivating client relationships and leads that result in energy services, renewable energy, and performance contracting opportunities
Negotiating partnerships and alliances
Structuring and closing transactions
Managing senior-level relationships internally and externally
Maintaining client relationships during project implementation
Level specific responsibilities:
Develops and approves strategic planning and pricing decisions.
Demonstrates a wide-range knowledge of the company, its organizational structure and philosophy, as well as the engineering and construction industry.
Directs, conducts, and coordinates the sales, marketing, research, and planning activities.
Responsible for hiring and development of a “best-in-class” Business Development organization.
Applies sound professional judgment in solving a variety of complex and difficult problems requiring the use of initiative, ingenuity, and creativity.
Duties are complex and require extensive and diversified experience and abilities, and knowledge of marketing and planning principles and practices.
Is fully accountable for Business Development activities within the Industry Segment (Sub-Unit).
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, management or business and 12 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Superb project management abilities, both individually and as part of a team
Proven expertise in business development and strategy development/execution, particularly in the renewable energy market and with ESPCs
Strong interpersonal, organizational, creative problem-solving, and leadership skills
A general knowledge of the financial, technical and political aspects driving the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries
Self-directed personality with a commitment to excellence
Previous experience working in high-performance organizations
Successful financial close of Federal or MUSH ESPC and UESC projects, minimum of one; additional will receive higher consideration
More than one successful financial close of Federal or MUSH ESPC and UESC projects
20+ years of relevant experience
