Job Summary

Provides technical expertise in support of network and communications engineering projects for East Coast Combined Tactical Training Ranges sites and systems.

Provides project management support for the design, planning, and integration of new and upgraded network, data and voice communication, and range system engineering tasking.

Examines systems, facilities, plans and specifications to determine safe work procedure. Provides system design, cost analysis, procurement, installation, configuration change, development, documentation, for integration of network and communications systems.

Provides range communications support and engineering assistance for technical, logistical and configuration issues necessary to meet network, communications and system requirements. Areas of support include diagnosis and repair of network connectivity, serial data transmission equipment, microwave transmission systems, multiplexers and RF communication equipment to conform to industry standards and Government regulations.

Supports the Configuration Management (CM) program to include the evaluation and monitoring of all modifications to communications equipment of facilities, the generation of Engineering Change Requests to improve interoperability, reliability, maintainability of systems, and ensures adherence to applicable CM standards.

Minimum Requirements

Associates Degree in related field or High School Diploma and Formal classroom education equivalent to Navy “C” School, or vocational school with formal training in the field of communications, networking, computer systems, and electronic equipment installation, maintenance and documentation.

Five years’ applicable experience in network and communications installation, test, and integration of Cisco systems, Microwave and Wireless communications, and HF/UHF/VHF radio communication systems

Experienced in: Fiber Optics and Optical Systems, Digital and Analog Communications, Microwave Data Transmission, Video Systems, Network and Data Encryption

Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.

Possess and maintain an active DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Network and/or Communications

Experienced and knowledgeable in the areas of antennas and transmission theory, component and systems design, project engineering and project management, systems integration, configuration management, documentation, and technical writing.

Cisco Certified Network Administrator (CCNA)

Fiber Optics Splicing Certification

Certified Tower Climber w/ Climber Rescue Training
