Job Summary

The AECOM Seattle office seeks an architect, or intern architect working towards professional licensure, to join our team to work on aviation and commercial facility design projects from initial design through construction administration. The immediate work assignments involve airport terminals, but could also involve other airport support buildings, aerospace commercial buildings or other commercial building types. Candidates for licensure will gain experience on complex projects that prepares them for licensure exams, and junior professionals will advance their architectural skills. On our team, you will work closely with senior architects and engineers in a multi-disciplinary office to:

  • Develop solutions for technical architectural problems of moderate scope and complexity.

  • Develop architectural designs to meet client specifications and governing codes.

  • Prepare designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematics, construction drawings, details and specifications.

  • Coordinate with clients and the project team to successfully execute the design, including reviewing construction submittals and responding to contractor requests for information.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS plus 4 years for relevant experience or demonstrated equivalence of experience and or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in an architectural curriculum and 4-10 years of relevant work experience in a professional office.

  • Moderate to advanced skills with Autodesk products especially Revit, including the ability to develop construction documents and renderings, create families, automate tasks with Dynamo or macros, set up work-sharing, and act as BIM lead to apply, manage, and coordinate standards.

  • Familiarity with office software such as Microsoft Office, Acrobat or BlueBeam, Adobe suite, etc.

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications.

  • Experience with aviation, transportation, or commercial building design projects that have progressed from schematic design into construction administration.

  • Excellent communications, teamwork, and personal organizational skills
