Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Transportation Planner for employment in the Philadelphia, PA office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations.

Reviews or assists in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans and regulations.

Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.

Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, transportation tax base data and occupancy rates.

Assists in evaluating re-zonings, ordinance amendments, site plans, special use permits, variances and other proposals.

Coordinates community review of public and private development projects.

Provides information to the public regarding development regulations.

Assists in resolving citizen and customer issues.

Under direct supervision, conducts field evaluations and assessments.

Support the modeling and visualization practice using a variety of software packages, including InDesign, 3-D modeling software, such as Sketch Up and Rhino, AutoCAD, ArcGIS

Coordinate extensively with planning staff in four offices in Pennsylvania and Delaware.

May be required make professional presentations to client or community groups

Interact with multi-discipline and multi-office teams within AECOM.

Work effectively in team situations and establish strong relationships with other teams where overlap of client project work exists

Candidate will perform public outreach, transportation, land use, and environmental planning at the municipal, county and regional level. Tasks include:

  • Public involvement

  • Data collection and evaluation

  • Impact analyses

  • Preparation of maps and graphic illustrations

  • Preparation of reports and report materials

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in in planning, geography, environmental sciences, public policy, or related field.
