Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a mid-level Environmental Planner for employment in the New York, NY office. The position would involve assisting in the preparation of New York City environmental assessment documents pursuant to CEQR/SEQRA/NEPA, as well as Uniform Land Use Review (ULURP) applications.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical writing for a variety of environmental regulatory documents such as environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, and other compliance documents

  • Assist on a variety of environmental studies for infrastructure projects including rezoning, development-related projects, renewable energy, power, water and, transportation

  • Prepare materials and graphics in support of environmental, planning, landscape architecture, and community outreach projects

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in or related to Planning

  • 4+ years of relevant experience to include preparation of CEQR documents.

  • Strong writing and communication skills are a must. Writing samples may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters Degree preferred

  • Familiarity with SEQRA, NEPA and ULURP is a plus

  • Experience in preparation of proposals and graphics (GIS, ADOBE Photoshop and Illustrator) is a plus.
